THE COLONY GÜELL CRYPT
Colònia Güell is a small industrial textile community from the XIX century. Just a short distance from Barcelona, it has been declared an area of noted cultural interest. As a whole it was designed by principal modernist architects hired by the founding entrepreneur and patron of culture Eusebi Güell.
The construction of the Church was conducted by Antoni Gaudí, of which just the crypt was concluded; one of the five works of the architect which have been declared World Heritage site. Our tour includes a walk through the streets of the colony which details the various buildings that compose it: the school, the master´s house, the Athenaeum, the Fontova theatre and the Church. Being an inhabited center, visits to the insides are only carried out at the Güell crypt. Park Güell is a nice complement to this excursion as it is a structured set like the textile colony, but in this case, conceived as an urbanization for residences of high standing.
