TARRAGONA

The ancient Tarraco was the main bastion of the Roman Empire in the peninsula. Proof of this is the magnificent legacy that the city of Tarragona preserves with pride and care in the present-day. We will enjoy a walk through history to understand the origins of our civilization. Our guide will gradually reveal all the details while you contemplate the Roman ruins on the Mediterranean area.This visit includes two options:

Option 1: includes interior visit to the Cathedral which began construction at end of XII century. Inside, you may observe details such as the High Altar, the tailor’s chapel, the grave of Joan of Aragon and the cloister. We will then visit the National Archaeological Museum of Tarragona, built during the first half of the XI century, and therefore, the oldest in Catalonia in its specialty.

Option 2: includes an archaeological tour and stroll through the historic centre, where you can visit the Roman wall, considered the most ancient one in Hispania.

Duration: 4 hours (not including travel time).

This exclusion can be extended to Poblet and Santes Creus.
